Longing is a body of work that reflects on a pull toward home, and contemplations on how family and family land can stain a psyche. Stains are generally unintentional, unwanted, and bring about tenacious scrubbing and scouring in attempt to draw them out. However, staining in science is a helpful tool for examination. My relationship to the stains the land has left on me are both unwanted and helpful for understanding myself. My body continually tells me through my materials and poetry that I should return home. That I belong there. That generations of my family have built this belonging.

I seek connection with viewers who feel that the external landscapes of their home, and internal landscapes of bonds with their families are linked.
